Stanley F. Banks

Education
I started playing the Bass Guitar in Junior High School, after playing acoustic bass for two months, I played wIth the NYC Junior High School Band, In High School my Instructor, Lawrence Charles Bergstein (Musical Star of Goodbye Columbus) pushed me on to play with New York's All City High School Orchcestra and Chorus for two consecutive years at Philharmonic Hall. On my own I joined the American Symphony Orchestra.

Woek Experience
I met Singer & Bassist Jon Lucion through L.C.B. who then called me to perform with him and for Broadway Plays such as Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope, Raisin and Let My people go.

Three years later I went on to play with Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson. I then Joined Ester Phillips and Alfred "Pee Wee" Ellis, Writer and Musical Director for 18 months.

In 1975 I joined Guitarist and Vocalist George Benson and celebrate over 25 years with the world's top selling Jazz Artist. I have recorded six albums with Benson Includlng Breezin' and Weekend and LA.

I have performed all over the world with many artists, including: Minnie Rlpperton, Marlena Shaw, Harvey Mason, Phil Upchurch, Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff, and Chaka Khan, Ester Phillips, Leslie Uggams, Pattie Austin, Manhattan Transfer, Count Basie Band, and David Sanborn. I have recorded albums with George Benson, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Harvey Milson, Carol Douglas, Hank Crawford, Melvin Sparks, and Bernard Purdie.
